Birth certificate and running pillar to post

What's that saying? You come into the world alone and you die alone or some like that. Basically the point is that you're alone and can't expect help from others who can find 100s of chunks of time to go around doing stuff for everyone but you. Indeed in this 8 year period in paris, practically anything administrative for me or lulu has been done by me. Even if it means lugging along the poor thing from pillar to post. As was the case today. For his school admissions in india, we need a translated bc. I asked his dad to go to the consulate to get it. After having to do that myself I know now that even if he had gone it'd have been a waste of time. But he didn't. Anyway, lulu n I left bright and early to Rue de Paradis - Paris where the vfs is now located. They wanted lulu's pic and thumbprint. Look  at this pic he took -

Obviously it was unacceptable. So we took another. The place was a bloody ripoff costing 10€ for 4 pics instead of the standard 4€. F-ing crap Indian offices are. If it's india, accept a bribe. If it's anroad, just hike the prices.

Anyway, we took another set of pics and went to the counter. When I've almost swiped my card for a bloody translation and courier service, I had the mind to ask if this translation would be accepted across india. That's when the reveal happens that the translation is actually going to be in French! WTF!

We hightailed it back home and I dragged lulu yet again out - to the Mairie to get the "plurilingue" (multilingual) acte de naissance. They gave it in 2 seconds flat. And it seems to me that that might suffice after all. And that my morning expedition to the embassy was a waste.

Nevertheless at least we are off to Botdeaux this weekend.

Until I report from there, xoxo.

Centre Georges Pompidou - Fontaine Igor Stravinsky

Finally started off our Paris promenade today. We left after breakfast and came back before lunch. It was short n nice outing. Great day outside. Directly headed to the George Pompidou centre at Chatelet. It's the museum of modern art and the building that looks lol it's been turned inside out.

Right next to it is the Fontaine Igor Stravinsky - a small collection of pretty sculpture fountains created by artists.

After enjoying the sun a bit, we found out way back to the Grande Fontaine at Chatelet.

And then got home. And there you have it - first outing for paris promenade.

Get here - RER A to chatelet les Halles and take Rue Berger sortie.

Until tomorrow, xoxo!

Day 1 of Disney

We finally decided to go to Parc Disneyland today. A n I left bright and early to arrive to crowded gates and thronging crowds at Paris Disneyland. The day was bright and blue and not a lot of tourists were going to pass this up.

We got in relatively quickly and at the ticket counter I was informed I needed an ID to solidify my ticket. Brilliant person that i am, I'd forgotten :(. So I could either purchase a fresh ticket or use this this once and be done with it, neither of which made sense. I decided to come back. What better thing could I do? The day was promising to be super hot. And I could always come back in a couple of days in the afternoon and stay till night. We did take a couple of selfies and roam the gift shop where I bought lulu a Buzz a lightyear toy.

Until tomorrow, xoxo.

Errands and a frikking long day

Today's Saturday. In summer. That means the illustrious husband is off playing cricket for more than 12 hours a day. While I've learned to deal with this a little less emotionally and do great most of this time, today I'm pissed. It's been 3-4 weekends of both days gone and over 12 hours at a stretch at that. It's like i have no f-ing weekend. On dark days like this, I feel like a single mom. Lulu is a blessing but it still messes with your brain when there's no adult company forever and a day you're rollong playdoh or watching Nemo for the 80th time.

We went to auchan in the morning, bought grocery, lugged back a tonne on that. Some day when i die, you'll find a bag of groceries next to me.

It's 23:02 and still no sight of the husband. So mad.

Will make the most of the other days.

Xoxo
